Putting seafoam in an EFI
« on: November 17, 2005, 09:07:51 AM »
Hey all,

So I've got some seafoam and I want to clean out my intake. I understand that I should be able to unhook a vacuum line, and basically suck seafoam out of the bottle into the intake with it, and then let it sit and foam up.

My question is, what is the best vacuum line for this? What is the best way to do this? Is what I'm talking about feasible?

(16 valve for those not in the know)

Thanks!

When I did mine I pulled the hose off of the Idle air conrtol vavle and sprayed it down the hose(yes mine was a spray can)while giving it some gas and keeping the rrrrrrrr's up.

Sorry for not replying sooner, guys. :)

I put the seafoam in yesterday using the brake booster line.

Definately some extra pick-me-up. Kind of like putting in new spark plugs.

I had fun zooming down the road for a little bit smoking people out behind me.  ;D

This is the 10th manufacturer of efi i've used seafoam in.  It works grrrreat! Jjust like the other 9!
Doesn't harm the polymers at all!  Alcohol base products don't work !/2 as well & deteriorate the polymer lines & components.

I used it, and my engine is pretty dirty, i think PO didn't change oil at some point, anyways, i ran it for like 20mins, maybe 15?? but i did't notice any difference, half into crankcase other half into intake.

Pour it on the ground and do a burnout on it and you will have all the smoke without the harm to the eng! >:D
