I towed a zuki on a car dolly with a stock zuki 30 miles

and flat towed a cj7 that ran out of gas on a strap about 15 mile to town ,the state cop that pulled us over let us go because he was a jeeper and could not belive that the sammy was towing the heep

Dont over load it on long trips. When moving to Florida I loaded down the X-90 and a utility trailor behind it and topped the scales at just over 6500#  :o It took me 6 trys to balance out the load on the utility trailor so it would track good and after 800 miles, I have a tranny whine for some strange reason  :P  ::)

I would NOT reccomend for any one to do this. It was a LONG slow ride at 65-70 all the way down. I have towed trailors my entire life. and it was still scary in the cross winds.

Lol, thats the main reason for me fitting LWB calipers and rear discs. Towing a heavy load the brakes feel very weak, even on stock rubber. 5:83s and 27" tyres pull really well though  ;D ;D

Actually it stoped OK. I made sure I had a day that I could make the trip without running into any rain along the way though. I've got the CAT scale ticket somewhere. I'll try to find it to see how much was in the car and how much was being hauled behind.

my brother biker and I were up mt arrowsmith one day and we came a cross a cement barrier block that some one had pulled out into the road. they even left the chain attached. so duane said what the hell lets try it. so 4 lo and hubs locked in, and the fun began. i have never saw a cars suspension compress as much as duanes track did. but low and behold the block started to move. these things weigh in at about 2500 lbs so we were fairly amazed. pulled it about 150 ft till we got it completely off of the road.  and were able to get the chain unhooked and took it with us.

I have pulled a few XJ's out with my sammi, and several trees out of the way. Never towed anything before though. Oh actually I did tow a broken XJ through a mud hole.

If I understand you correctly then you are talking about a rack that goes across the back attached to the tow bar only. You will have a lot more problems with this setup as the 'nose weight' will be very heavy. I had that set up on a camper van and had to add a fair bit of additional bracing to the towbar as well because I got a lot of flex. The van had a fair bit of overhang though so the 'arms' on the towbar were about 2ft long.

I had to get pulled off a log the other day by a Heep... it was my own fault for getting stuck, trying to go over a massvie log and not really paying attention good enough, front left bit through the bark and starting spinning along the side while the front right went right over it, and my back tires drove me straight up the log on my axle. No hi lift with me, and no winch, so I had to call my jeep friend with a stock 1990 wrangler 4 banger. He struggled pretty good, but finally managed to get me off the log. I backed up and went right over it, and he didn't even attempt it. So even though I got pulled out by him, he couldn't go any of the places I went.
