Agreed. If you haven't bought your tires yet, then don't go rushing out to purchase the 235/75/15s. Give it some more thought. If you are running an auto tranny with the V6 you should be able to pull the 30/9.50/15 tires easily and with minimal rub. Unless you are made of money, and some people may be, it's damned hard to justify buying a new set of "taller" tires if you just put 5000Ks/miles on the set that you just bought last month. Avoid the "buyers regret".
Think hard about what the end state for the appearance, function (whatever) you want for your truck before you jump. IF you intend to put coil spacers or longer springs under your truck, then wait for the tires until you have the suspension lift completed. THEN make your decision on your tires. 235/75/15s will fit without a lift, but you might have a little more difficulty fitting 30's under your truck without the lift.
I have a little bit of buyers remorse.... but I'm not buying any new treads until the ones I am rolling on now are smoked OR unless I find a decent set someone has up for trade. Personally, if I "had it all to do over again" I'd be riding on 30/9.50/15s now instead of 29" tires just for the slight additional clearance the tire height would add to my frame and body for plowing through snow and clearing the ground on trails.
The more snow you can roll over... the less snow you end up pushing. The rear diff pretty much slides through the snow, but the frame and body just plows it and paclks it into the frame until you can't push anymore and then you eventually bottom out on what you tried to drive over/thru. I hate that!!!
