I would say the pump should be fine too.  I have used an 8V pump in place of a 16V pump and had no issues.  It could be you have a weak fuel pump or the filter (on the pump and/or the inline one on the frame) is partially clogged.

IIRC, the black box on the firewall is the ABS box.

The brakes is not what needs to be swapped.  If you look at the rear axle third, you should see that one has a plug and wire coming out of it (the ABS sensor wiring) and the other one doesn't.  All you would have to do is swap the complete third (which it sounds like you are going to swap gears anyway), and that should make the brake light go off.

So the cam timing being off was causing the engine to die suddenly?

I doubt the fuel injector cleaner is causing it to throw the EGR code.
Did you clean the passage from the egr valve through the backside of the engine over to the exhaust manifold?  Also, you can clean the EGR valve with some brake cleaner, if it is sticky or doesn't move like it is supposed to.  Also clean the EGR passages in the intake.  I have had one that would throw the EGR code, cleaned everything listed and it has never came back....that has been about 45K ago.

no the egr wasnt causing the engine to die . that was the CPS just as the ECM was saying
replaced the distrib and put 50  miles on it today , no issues

yep  its  claen , whell what i could get to anyway .
i actualy had this  egr issue on a 2001 chevy .
once i ran the tank clean of the injerctor cleaner , she  went out and stayed out .
as it was exspalined to me . the  cleaner also  effects carbon build up  which then get sucked into the  exshaust passages , if there is enough of it , it  will throw a code . so before i take the exhaust anifolds off and such and  check those , im going to run a couple tanks  and see what happens ..

as a note on this ,  it took about 30 miles before  it threw the egr code so . we will see

sorry cam timing was what was causing the issue of  bogging out after 3/4 throttle ..
i could get her up to 65  with nursing but that was it .

pulled the front off and  re timed it , then re timed the cam and i had her up to 80 today  ;)

A note her also on the code 51 .
As I stated I pulled the egr and all looked well . But after reading kick fix links I decided to take a closer look .
The inside of the   throttle intake , the carbon was near gooo .
. Very ,very paste like  as was the  lines from the EGR . Again , I suspect the lucas .
So I cleaned out all the lines .  And ports in the throttle intake .
I also found my egr was sticking open just a little  and not seating fully  when closed .
So I cleaned a little more there and got it to seal .
200+ miles today and no engine code  ;)

FYI, the stock 89 fuel pump will put out 60 PSI before the
pumps internal pressure regulator starts to vent fuel back into the tank
