Guess what came today!!!
« on: July 28, 2004, 11:06:22 AM »
My tires!!

33x13.50 TSL LTB's

mmm... sexy

Got three of them in the back, and one in the passenger's seat:

Only slightly taller than my current tires (33x12.50), but they do looke a hell of a lot meatier comparitively:

Hopefully I can get them mounted before the end of the week... calling the local tire shop tomorrow morning... so excited!

Mostly sarcasm. I try, but sometimes I fuck things up rather than maintaining them... like not tightening down my wheel bearing all the way and having to replace it (from the parts truck) a week later. It needs to last me for a few more years... or at least until I'm out of school and have a full time job.

I like my LTBs, they kick butt in the mud,
and soft dirt, I swear they hook up like
paddles in the soft stuff.

Let me know if they drag your power down
compaired to the Radials, I've never run a
Radial 33" tire, so I'm curious, I get about
20 MPG, and wonder if I would pickup a few
MPG with radials

Also my starter came yesterday.  I got a rebuilt one for $40 from a guy on e-bay.  I didn't drive it today though because the bike was begging to be ridden!

The offroad capabilities (and price) are why I bought them, so hopefully they do well.

There's definately a noticable loss in power... these tires are MUCH heavier than my radials... Also, the smooth ride of my radials made it nice onroad... I found out what flat spots were all about (and will REALLY find out this winter) on the drive home... thought my truck was gonna fall apart :o

I've replaced boots a few times, so I'm no CV virgin anymore (in fact, I gotta pick up another boot... one seems to have ripped... damned original 13 year  old boots >:( ).

No, it's not locked up front (or in back)... yet. ;D Of course the ol' skinny pedal is my friend, and I have already broken stuff with those bald-ass radials with liberal usage of it. :( I'll actually be able to take it easy now, considering I have a bit of tread :D.

Pics coming soon.

Now, for some pics:

Amazing how just changing the tires makes it look that much more aggressive... I'm sitting here imagining what it would've look like with 35x14.50 boggers

Took a bit of weight to balance it :o
