I have the FSM for the 99 Metro, and I have done several injection swaps in th past, but there are things I can't get around with the factory ecu. There is a VSS in the metro trans that wont work in the sammy trans. Without that it won't rev past about 3000 rpm. Also the late model ignition is a distrubutorless system, so it relies completely on the ecu(and the VSS). Tha means I can't run the head with carbs, until I can afford one of the ricer ignition boxes that works with a crank trigger system. The hot setup would be a Megasquirt box...it will run the ignition, and injection...but I can't afford that right now either!
The block is a bolt in, grab a head gasket, and throw the sammy head on the bottom end, and run the crap outta' it!! That's what I am doing right now. I am not sure if the result is an "interference" motor.....things are pretty close in there. Feels like compression is up from stock, and it's a runner!
If I get the money to get the 4valve head back on, I will keep you updated, but I wouldn't count on it.....I've got a line on a cheap Mazda RX7
