Consumers guide huh, well they are wrong.

thx ... I've not opened up the 16V I picked up last week yet.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

Wild is definitely correct.......

The kick/track never got the G series DOHC's in North America, Just saw a 1300 Dohc swapped into a Sammy and a Custom built 1600 DOHC in a Swift. You'd like the Swift "Wild", he's going turbo intercooled NO injected.

That's OK, as soon as I get this 16V
SOHC head ported (cleaned up and
smoothed out) I will enjoy the same
power the DOHC head gives.

I do belive the DOHC head will fit the
1.6 G series block, but I think I read
that there was a loss of something, but
I can't remember if it was torque or
high RPM breathing or ???

From what I have read

- The 1.6/16v sohc head ported and polished will flow as good or better than a stock 1.3/16v
  dohc in stock form

- The 1.3/16v dohc will out breath the sohc at the high end by a pile once it is completely
  prepped

For what you're doing the sohc 16v would make the most senses to me....but the thought of a 200hp high rpm 16v dohc turbo does get the blood flowing

Got some before pics, and got some
porting done today, worked the combustion
chambers so they don't have any sharp
angles/edges, and tried to match the seats
to the port, but the seats are going to need
more work to get them smoothed in, but looking
much better, I still need to work the ports and
chambers with a 60# wheel and get it smoothed
out, right now it's just been finished with a grinding
point.

Ohh and I un-shrouded the valves
where the edges of the chambers sort
of  hung over the edge where the valves
opened, I hope this gives some improvment
over the stock heads.

Too bad I don't think I'll ever get to test a 16V
head and a worked over head for a comparison.

That port work

In combo with your turbo set up should produce some awesome results. Seat of the pants guess but if you were getting 150 with the unported 8v I would think you should be 185ish with the 16v and the blower....can't wait for the pics

The DOHC head from the G13 will bolt on the 1.6. As to flow, well the stock G16 SOHC 16v head actually flows more but with some serious work done on it then the DOHC head can be made to flow some more.
